NFL Willing to Test Therapeutic Marijuana with league players
It’s been known for quite some time that the NFL has considered testing marijuana for pain management among it’s professional athletes. Roger Goodell the NFL commissioner was quoted as early as April stating that weed is “addictive” as well as “unhealthy”. Where he states he is on board to test it therapeutically but is not willing to remove it from the leagues list of banned substances.

The NFL does however seem to be on board with testing the waters so to speak with the assistance of the NFL Players association of course.
The NFLPA believes that marijuana treatment could be safe alternative to opiates which have a history of being highly abused among NFL athletes drug tested.
Ultimately, the decision on how to proceed as a league would be the result of a collective bargaining process with the players’ union. At least both sides appear open to exploring the feasibility of marijuana use and the idea of a change in policy on the topic moving forward.
Why didn’t I think of this. Genius stoner idea
